The women of "The Golden Bachelor" have been revealed.
The cast of the ABC's senior-focused dating show spinoff is finally here. As Gerry Turner, 71, graces TV screens come September as the network's inaugural "Golden Bachelor," he will be joined by 22 women between the ages of 60 and 75.
An announcement describes the women as "accomplished golden ladies" who will take time out of their already full lives to "rediscover" love, a harsh pivot from the twentysomethings who are a mainstay of ABC's signature reality programs "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." Instead, "The Golden Bachelor" is spun as a foray into second chances.
Turner, a widower, has said he isn't looking to replicate what he had with his wife, who dies in 2017, but rather discover a new kind of companionship for his sunset years.
When does the 'Golden Bachelor' premiere?
The show will make its debut Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 EDT/PDT on ABC, and streams the next day on Hulu.
